Q: How much space
do we need for your studio?
A: Our studio requires a minimum space of
15' x 6' with 8' ceilings.
20' x 10' with 10' ceilings is preferable. (Grounded outlets required)
See Details page.
Q: How much time per person?
A: On average, each person takes between 5 and
15 minutes. Being cooperative and ready to go shortens the time.
Your company or group can also mandate a minimum or maximum time.
Depending on circumstances, you may want to devote an entire 30
minute segment to one person. It also depends on the type of
portraits, how you want the sessions handled, and what your usage
for the portraits will be. Once we have this information and we know
your total number of participants, we can give you a better
estimate.
Q: Are you experienced with all skin tones?
A: Yes, and different hair colors. Lighting
for a light blonde is different than for someone with very dark
hair. We may also adjust lighting according to the amount of hair
someone has.
Q: How about retakes?
A: I am human, therefore I goof. But rarely. The great thing about
digital is that images can be examined on the spot. Mistakes are
normally caught right away. In addition, I take plenty of exposures.
If I do mess up, I come back and fix it for free.
Q: But what if someone is out sick?
A: We should be able to work something out. We'll treat each
instance on a case by case basis. One option would be an offer for
the person to drop by my home and I would set the studio up. Dealing
with more than one absentee we might offer to come back at a reduced
rate, such as lowering the minimum down to one hour instead of two.
Q: How about glasses? Another photographer
told me to go get some frames without lenses. My other pictures have
bright spots in my glasses. Should I not wear my glasses?
A: Definitely wear your glasses if you normally do. Besides having
those nose marks if you take them off right before your session, we
want you to look like you normally do. Get frames without lenses?
What a hassle and I would be very interested to find out if Ossip
would really let you borrow a pair. Bottom line: Professional
photographers should know how to create a portrait with your glasses
on without having glass glare. I'll have you position your head a
certain way and maybe increase the height of the lights or lower
your posing stool.
Q: One photographer was very "touchy" and
made me feel uncomfortable? Plus he smudged my makeup. Do you do
that?
A: No. I normally direct from behind the camera with my hands and
ask you to "mirror" what I do. Even with long-time friends, I rarely
touch while creating portraits. Many parents bring their children to
me for high school
senior portraits for that very reason. I tend to be "laid back",
soft spoken and pleasant. My goal is to make you feel comfortable
and enjoy the experience.
Q: How much are business portraits normally
and how much do you charge?
A: Comparatively speaking, our pricing is very
reasonable and actually less than most 'brick and mortar" studios.
Considering the convenience of our service, we're a great value.
